Pancake day… when all competent adults forget they can make and consume pancakes the other 363 days of the year; But on this special Tuesday frantically bang out pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner… juicing pancakes for snacks and setting up a tasty pancake mix on an IV drip. If your pancake making skills have become a little rusty since last Shrove Tues or you’ve gone vegan and need a little assistance, we’ve got some recipes to help you out. Check out our regular, gluten free and vegan recipes below along with step by step instructions. We’ve even included some quick and easy sweet and savoury toppings… yum.
Get your ingredients out:
100g Plain Flour Two Eggs 300ml Semi Skimmed Milk 1 Tablespoon of Sunflower Oil
Gluten Free Pancakes
1 1/4 cups †Gluten-Free Flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 tea spoon salt 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1 egg 1 cup soya milk 2 tbsp melted butter Spray Oil
1 cup flour 1 tablespoon of organic cane sugar 2 tablespoons baking powder Pinch of salt 1 cup of soy milk 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1. Whisk flour, egg and milk in a bowl 2. Heat the oil in a pan and pour in some mix 3. Cook for 1-2 mins on each side until golden
Gluten Free Method
1. Add the flour, baking powder and soda, salt, and sugar to a mixing bowl. 2. In another bowl, mix the milk, buttermilk, melted butter and egg. 3. While mixing, slowly add the wet ingredients to dry ingredients until batter is well mixed. 4. Heat a griddle or pan over medium heat. 5. Spray pan or griddle with oil. 6. Pour some of the pancake batter onto the pan 7. When pancake bubbles begin to pop and stay open, flip pancakes. 8. Let the pancake cook another 30-60 seconds on opposite side.
