8 Christmassy London Dates

cup of warm drink for christmas

The clocks have turned back and now it is officially Winter guys. Perhaps your days will now consist of cosying up in front of netflix or you might want to go and explore London with your girlf.

Here are a few places you might like to visit for your London dates to make you feel all Christmassy and cosy inside;

Pergola Paddington Winter

The Pergola in Paddington has geared itself up for the Winter, ensuring that you can keep warm and cosy whilst enjoying a good drink.

They have transformed the bar into an urban winter forest with winter foliage and tall trees as well as some cute fairy lights to get that extra Christmassy feel.

Oh but it is still outside we hear you say, well dont worry they have also accounted for the cold weather by providing you with blankets (before your beer blanket kicks in)

As well as the new look they have a new menu, with Winter cocktails, with a two-for-one offer from 4-7 pm on Thursdays and Fridays. Makes for a perfect Winter date.

Lost in Brixton

Lost in Brixton is getting ready for your Christmassy needs this Winter. Based in Brixton Village it’s getting a wintery makeover and adding table service from your village restaurant faves.

If you like a drink (which we think you do) you can get two for one cocktails during the week.

Hogwarts in the Snow

Nothing says Christmas more than a Harry Potter film right? well experience Harry Potter in real life by exploring Hogwarts in the snow when the studio gets a Christmassy makeover.

Pay the usual 45 quid (make sure you book in advance though because it will be popular) and get to see the wonder that is the Wizarding world dressed up in snow with the Great Hall lined with Christmas trees, those long dining tables dressed for a seasonal feast with Christmas pud and real flames.

Remember that scene in The Goblet of Fire where they have that Yule Ball? Yep, the stage will be decorated like that too.

The Great Hall isn’t the only place getting a festive makeover, the Gryffindor common room and Boys’ dormitory will be decorated with original props (one original prop being, handmade Christmas cards from the cast).

The Hogwarts Castle model is covered in a layer of filmmaking snow (which was hand dusted onto the model)

Go get your butterbeers and enjoy walking around, looking at the Christmassy, cosy wonders that Harry Potter can bring.

Auld Shillelagh

Go onto their website and you will see that they are the winners of the Irish Times, ‘Most authentic Irish pub in the world outside of Ireland.’ we would also give it an award for being the cutest.

A friendly atmosphere and live music every week it is well worth visiting Church street for a Guinness or two here for the good craic and the friendly atmosphere.

Christmas at Kew

Christmas at Kew is back from the 20th November. Now in its seventh year, the trail will take a new route with new installations.

The old favourite the Palm House Pond will still be showing off its light show at the finale with jets of lights dancing off the water.

Grab a drink of mulled wine or cider to keep yourself warm as you walk around looking at all the pretty lights.

Tower of London – Ice Rink

Obviously skating has to be on the agenda to get your festive feels. Why not try the Tower of London Ice Rink?

Back as of the 16th November be sure to visit this place in the evening to create a truly magical feeling.

DIY Art Shop

Taking place on the 14th December until the 24th December, you can find some great unique and affordable art gift ideas here (and perhaps a few things for yourself)

Find all kinds of art here on all types of materials including; Art prints, limited multiples, risograph & screen prints, cards, postcards, sculptures, t shirts, tote bags, artist books, tableware, wrapping paper, and unique pieces.

What is more festive than buying gifts for others? Maybe get your Dad something that isn’t a tie this year, yeah.

Zero Waste Christmas Market

Taking place on the 7th December from 10:30 until 5:30 at the Boiler House on Brick Lane, it is in its second year of running.

In this current situation, we find ourselves in, it is absolutely necessary, with alot of waste over Christmas, perhaps we should learn a bit about how we can be more sustainable over the festive season?

With over 45 up and coming zero-waste brands for all sorts of Christmassy tings as well as talks, it is an informative and fun day.

Don’t forget to bring your containers to try their mulled wine and hot vegan food options, if you have a sweet tooth they also have churros.

Enjoy the festive fun
