If you’ve managed to enter this article without us inviting you in, congratulations, you’re not a lesbian vampire! (We’re kidding, pretty sure that’s just doorways so, you could be for all we know!) However, if you’ve got a lingering urge for some blood-sucking shows with sapphic representation (AKA lesbian vampire movies), you’ve found the right place. We’ve gathered the best vampire-focused entertainment for you to watch. You could even pin this article and save it for the not-too-far-away Halloween season!
The Twilight Saga Films
Okay, stating the obvious: THERE ARE NO LESBIAN VAMPIRES IN TWILIGHT!
Sure, not represented in the films. But if we may also state the obvious: Kristen Stewart! Kristen Stewart is [[[!SPOILERS!]]] a badass vamp in those final films, and duh, a total lesbian icon too. We want her to step on us, we want her to love us back, and we also want to watch her vampiring (not a word, we know), because she’s a badass. If you like a love-triangle romance story with a horror element, Twilight is probably for you. If you don’t, read on, we have lots to come!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
If you plan on starting Buffy from season 1 anyway, just trust us that lesbians will eventually crop up in this show. There will be sapphic representation in this show, there will be vampires in this show, will they be the same people? No. But you should stop reading now to avoid spoilers.
For the rest of you who’d like to skip the first few seasons for a bit of gay gothic, we recommend beginning this show from season 3. It’s a cult classic show with vampires and slaying, of course, but also witchiness and WLW. It’s a hard yes from us, we love a good cult classic! The episodes are short and sweet and you’re able to watch them one at a time. But if you love binge-watching, there are also a couple of longer-term plots in there for you to sink your teeth into! (We’re so sorry about the puns, honestly, but they’re too easy!)
Hazbin Hotel
A more light-hearted take on things, Hazbin Hotel is a recent miracle. We have vampires, we have lesbians, we have asexual representation, we have songs (yes, songs!) we have frickin’ Jeremy Jordan. Guys, if you’re at all into musicals or a good, animated comedy about Hell, this is a really good one. It’s set in Hell, with Lucifer’s daughter (Charlie, heart of gold, trying her best) centre-stage. The show follows the reparations Charlie wants to make between Heaven and Hell, as, in this story, Heaven “exterminates” a certain number of Hell residents each year, and Charlie wants to stop it. I’m sure most of you musical nerds stopped reading as soon as we said “Jeremy Jordan” to immediately watch the entire show in one night but for those of you still here, be assured that the songs slap. All of the emotions, all of the vibes, great animation – it’s a sweet show. The vampires are not lesbians, but we have both vampires and lesbians in this show, so it’ll still scratch the itch hopefully!
Carmilla
If you’re a lover of classic gothic, you’ll be familiar with the tale of Carmilla. This film is a “reimagining” of this story. It focuses on a young girl struggling with her sexuality who is suddenly presented with Carmilla, a mysterious vampire (and queer woman) who stumbles into her life. We don’t want to say too much so as not to give the plot away, but this is an interesting hybrid of coming-of-age, gothic and queer struggle. If you’re looking for a more classic lesbian/vampire story, this might be the one for you! If you’re into gothic/queer symbolism, we would also seriously highly recommend this one!
Jennifer’s Body
Jennifer’s Body is the ultimate cult horror-comedy that dives into the thrilling world of a lesbian vampire. So imagine – Jennifer (played by smoke show Megan Fox), your typical high school queen bee, suddenly possessed by a demon that turns her into a seductive vampire with a taste for girls. But this isn’t just a tale of bloodlust—there’s some intense queer chemistry between Jennifer and her best friend, Needy. With biting humour, steamy scenes, and a storyline dripping with lesbian vampire vibes, this film is a must-watch for anyone craving a dark, sapphic twist on horror.
Vampyros Lesbos
Article continues below.
Okay, so we’re going back in time here to 1970, to a surreal and psychedelic film by Jess Franco which is a cult favourite, with a soundtrack that’s as hypnotic as the scenes on screen. It follows a vampire countess who seduces women in her search for fresh blood, blending horror and erotica.
Lesbian Vampire Killers
A bit of a joke entry from us, but it can’t be overlooked.
Lesbian Vampire Killers is a cheeky horror-comedy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. When two clueless blokes, Jimmy and Fletch, set off for a weekend in the countryside, they stumble upon a village cursed by—you guessed it—lesbian vampires! With an ancient prophecy hanging over their heads, the guys find themselves up against an army of bloodthirsty, sapphic undead. Packed with campy humour, over-the-top action, and plenty of tongue-in-cheek nods to classic vampire tropes, this film is a wild ride that’s as ridiculous as it is entertaining. It’s a playful twist on the vampire genre that’s all about fun and frights.
First Kill
First Kill is a supernatural teen drama on Netflix that puts a fresh spin on the classic vampire vs. slayer story. When Juliette, a teenage vampire from a powerful bloodline, is tasked with making her first kill, she sets her sights on the new girl in town, Calliope. But there’s a twist—Calliope comes from a family of vampire hunters. As the two girls get closer, they find themselves caught between duty and desire, sparking a forbidden romance that defies their deadly destinies. With a mix of action, fantasy, and a sizzling lesbian love story, First Kill is a must-watch for fans of star-crossed lovers and supernatural thrills.
Motherland: Fort Salem
Fine, this one is not lesbian vampires, however, we didn’t want to miss this one because it is dark, halloweeny, has a similar style to it but with Witches instead, and most importantly, has a sapphic love story throughout.
True Blood
True Blood is that iconic HBO show that brought vampires, witches, and all kinds of supernatural beings into our living rooms, but it also gave us some memorable LGBTQ+ representation. The show didn’t shy away from queer storylines, especially when it came to characters like Tara Thornton and her relationship with Naomi. Tara, a strong, badass woman who dealt with her fair share of trauma, was portrayed as bisexual, and her romantic connection with Naomi brought some much-needed depth to her character. The series played around with queerness in more subtle ways too, especially through the fluidity of relationships among vampires, reminding us that love (and lust) knows no bounds, especially when you’re living for centuries!
Well everyone, hopefully, one or two of these recommendations will be able to scratch your itch for media with lesbians, vampires and lesbian vampires! We want to hear all about your recommendations and reviews down in the comments for your fav’ vampire lesbian films! Plus, head this way if you’re looking for more lesbian horror films.
