Michelle Manetti Chats with Us About Her 20 Years of DJing in the London Queer Scene

Is Michelle Manetti the next queer producer to blow up? Well, she’s already on the rise—it’s just a question of when. For those who haven’t yet caught on, Michelle is a true powerhouse in the East London queer scene, fusing decades of experience with an unwavering commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices in music. From her early days DJing at iconic queer nights in the early 2000s, to commanding stages at massive events like Block9 at Glastonbury, Boiler Room, and her own buzzing queer party Fèmmme Fraîche, Michelle’s influence is undeniable.

With over 20 years behind the decks, she’s become a key advocate for marginalised artists, especially within the FLINTA* community. Her Fèmmme Fraîche parties at Dalston Superstore have turned into a hotspot for queers to experience everything from House to Techno, with legendary guests like Honey Dijon, I.Jordan, and DJ Paulette gracing the decks.

In this Spotlight, we chat with Michelle about her remarkable journey and dive into the creation of her new event night, FAE, which she runs alongside co-founder Julian Capolei.
