How we begin, lesbian play

So what is this new play all about?

It begins small. Pre-work coffee dates, stealing kisses in the dark, inconspicuous hand-holding – but things soon escalate, and Helen and Diana have to figure themselves out in the margins of the “perfect” lives they’ve created for themselves.

Written by Elisabeth Lewerenz, Directed by Elizabeth Benbow, and produced in collaboration with creative producer Antonia Georgieva, the production comes full circle and finally takes to the VAULT Festival stage in 2023 after last year’s postponement.

How We Begin

Director Elizabeth Benbow says – “This play proudly and powerfully showcases the joyful, sometimes messy facets of queer female love, which is often underrepresented or misrepresented in contemporary media. It brings me great joy to finally present this moving play to a larger audience and bring it back to where it all started.”
